McPherson Loop, two unresolved hearings and the September school date
What changed, what remains unconfirmed and what Paulding families should put on the calendar.
Hey, Paulding— here are the changes worth knowing this week, with direct sources and no guesswork about hearing outcomes or opening dates.
The August 25 Planning Commission and Hiram tax-hearing outcomes are not published in the official records checked August 26. They remain labeled “outcome not yet published.”
The five most consequential changes
McPherson Loop remains an official closure watch
The county closed the road near 73 McPherson Loop for culvert replacement and has not published a reopening notice.
Why it matters: The notice says emergency vehicles cannot pass through. Drivers should check the county source before traveling and should not treat “until further notice” as a reopening date.
Hiram has not published the August 25 tax-hearing outcome
The city information center still lists the hearing as upcoming and says final action follows public comment.
Why it matters: Residents deserve a clean distinction between a hearing and final council action. The status will change only when Hiram publishes an authoritative record.
Official outcomes are still missing for two fuel-and-retail requests
The August 25 cases affect the Williams Lake/SR 92 and Paul Harris/Buchanan Highway areas.
Why it matters: Both locations sit on traveled corridors where new commercial uses may affect turning movements and surrounding activity. Each record will remain unresolved until an official outcome is published.
Put September 4 on the childcare calendar
PCSD’s district calendar lists an all-day remote-learning day.
Why it matters: An all-day remote schedule can affect childcare, transportation and work planning. Saving the date early is the useful part.
Due West Road at SR 92 is getting a new alignment
A signal, turn lanes and approximately 2,150 feet of roadway are under construction.
Why it matters: Drivers should expect a long construction timeline around an important intersection. October 2027 is the county’s listed estimate, not a guarantee.
